Originally released on the PC, the first and second Tumblebugs games were relatively well received. However the series failed to attain the mass popular appeal of similar games such as Zuma and Luxor as well as others. Tumblebugs is not even the first in this genre on WiiWare: that distinction goes to Magnetica Twist, from the makers of the very first marble shooting game, Puzz Loop. Now making its debut on WiiWare with a port of the second game, the series arrives somewhat late to the party, but well ahead of the serious competition.
Like the art-style, the game play is about 99% identical to Zuma. The biggest differences are that there are various original power-ups in play, and instead of switching around between two marbles, you can now hold three at a time and switch between them to choose just the right colour. The extra marble gives you more options to work with, but it doesn't make things any easier because you now have to keep track of which marble is in which slot. If you are used to Zuma's two-colour system you will likely make the mistake of firing the wrong one here, as you cannot switch back and forth between the same two here but rather must cycle through three different marbles (er, bugs).
But one of the biggest problems is the lack of any multiplayer option. Although such a feature is uncommon and some would argue unnecessary in this genre, the fact remains that Magnetica Twist did feature local multiplayer and it was a lot of fun, controller issues notwithstanding. With no multiplayer here in Tumblebugs 2, the game has somewhat less long term appeal than its competition.
How about some newfangled Faxanadu, Metroid, or Bionic Commando on Wiiware. I'm getting bored of all these \"pretty good\" or even \"fantastic\" puzzle games.I'm sure there's creative developers out there than can come up with a good action/exploration platformer. Looks like I still have to rummage through the old VC titles for that type of gameplay. For now, I guess I'll enjoy my Castlevania Rebirth, and I'll wait for Megaman 10...
Well, I'm pretty happy with ActionLoop/Magnetica Twist. It's closer to the arcade game PuzzLoop and the twisting wasn't that big an issue for me, more the multiple entry/exit maps in the harder difficulty paths!

The iOS versions of the game (the iPad version was called Tumblebugs HD) were released to the Apple App Store on July 9, 2012. In April 2018, Wildfire released Tumblebugs Remastered for Windows, an update to the original game featuring HD graphics and audio, performance enhancements, widescreen support, and Windows 10 compatibility.
Tumblebugs 2 is a strategy game in which players match colored balls, or 'bugs,' in order to clear a series of levels before the balls disappear into holes. Power-ups allow players to remove large numbers of bugs or to control the flow of bugs along the board.

So BFG once again slipped in an innocuous looking, childlike innocent seeming, addiction inducing game!! I thought I would get a game for my grandkids to play and now I can't stop...again!! It's another friendly, cute bug that grins at you and is Oh so polite - inviting you to play! Then WHAM! The levels get really hard and even though I should be annoyed that this colorful, cute game is killing me....I keep coming back!! I almost laughed out loud when the setting was around the kitchen drain!! Seriously, where's my flyswatter! Just kidding...he's too cute to swat! The semantics of the game are the usual marble popper stylings with bright colored marbles, abundant power-ups like the backward marble, or the universal popper - nothing really new or unusual, but like Zuma the character you are helping is just so personable and cute that you want to help him and keep playing! Plus, as I mentioned before, the different settings - like the kitchen sink - and different neighborhood and home areas keep drawing you back because they are exactly where you probably have seen/killed bugs before! And since it's now seen from the bugs point of view, it's one of those reality shifting angles! Don't misunderstand, it's not a total immersion game like the adventure or HO games, but if you're looking for a little colorful, innocent fun, do give this game a try!
Ok, this is my first review, so please bear with me, lol! This game is a lot of fun for me,captivating and enjoyable, with different levels to try and conquer. In fact, my niece, who is 12, saw me playing it and said that she wanted to play it too. Now she has the game too and really loves it. I really do recommend this and I hope that if you are intrigued by the game at all, just try it! This game is very addicting, so be careful!!!!
I've played this in the past on demo and enjoyed it, so thought to purchase the whole game. The challenge gets harder as you play and I actually have difficulty getting through the levels. The marbles move quicker and add more of them, as you advance. I'm sure someone that is a faster clicker than I, could easily finish. LOL! Anyone that can play Luxor's games, would probably think this game is a walk in the park!!!Don't expect a bunch of exploding objects with this one, it's not that type of marble game. It's more on the 3+ matching than anything else. The theme may be more suitable for younger players or the young at heart, so it's perfect for the whole family!!I personally didn't see a large difference from the first game and this one, except the scenes that you play are different. So if you purchase both games, like I did, you would then have many different levels to go through, for a change-up.
on a game I intended to buy for my grandchildren when they come to visit! The graphics are extremely sharp and clear, colorful...fast paced game. I consider myself at expert level...ESPECIALLY on a \"marble popper\" game. I lost 9 extra lives in a row on just one scene...how embarrassing! This game is just plain fun and makes me laugh...I love it!
I suppose this is the standard fare for the bubble popper type games, but I have never liked one better than tumblebugs 2. It is so well done, a cute loose story line about the evil bug king and funny sayings scattered throughout. Levels get really tough the last third of the game, especially on expert. I have replayed it several times and it never gets easier, the challenge is always there.
it is a very good game because it has a lock of ndifferent colors in it and it makers you work hard to try and shoot the bugs beford they get in the holds on youn that is why i like the game and i think it makes you work hard

The conclusion of Telltale Games' Tales of Monkey Island series arrived for the PC in early December. Now, Wii gamers can experience the finale of Guybrush Threepwood's latest bout with the feared pirate LeChuck as Tales of Monkey Island Chapter 5: Rise of the Pirate God leads Nintendo's weekly downloadable platform update. Nintendo's WiiWare library also sees the addition of Gameshastra's action puzzler Tumblebugs 2 this week. The 800-Wii-point ($8) bug-battling game offers 89 levels in which the heroine Tumble attempts to rescue the Tumblebugs colony from the nefarious Black Bugs regiment. Digital Leisure provides the final new WiiWare game this week in the form of 5 in 1 Solitaire. The 500-Wii-point ($5) solitaire card game compilation includes Klondike, Spider, FreeCell, Golf, and Gaps.
5 in 1 Solitaire will also be included in Nintendo's DSiWare store update this week for 200 points ($2). That won't be the only handheld card game, however, as Electronic Arts has Downtown Texas Hold'Em on tap for 500 DSi points ($5). The poker title offers two game modes that accommodate up to 20 gamblers, as well as online multiplayer for up to five.
Nintendo's True Swing Golf Express tees up on the DSi's online store this week for 800 points ($8). The golf sim features traditional round play on 3-, 9-, and 18-hole courses, while a challenge mode has gamers attempting to perform specific tasks on the links.
