A Program About Listening to You

The Helpline Podcast with Hans Onome

We've added this program to remind people that there is help and hope. So we've assembled people who can and do help. Some of them are coaches, doctors, therapists, and even CPAs.

It all depends on you and what kind of help you need. Every episode, we weigh in on what you've sent or emailed to provide perspective and knowledge that can shift you toward resolution.

Mr. Fred Rogers, television host (1928-2003)

Mr. Rogers once famously told his preschool audience, "Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping."

Mr. Rogers' quote is a big inspiration to this show, but we can do more than just look. We can do some of the helping. Finances, marriages, relationships, careers can be helped and improved with the help of experts. If that's you, consider being a guest. Your expertise and supportive voice can truly help.

If you're in need of help this podcast is for you as well. Submit a query or situation for our guests to unravel. You might need to make a big decision or discover a new path. Never be afraid to ask for help.

Oddly, there is a prevailing idea that you should be able to fix your problems yourself. It's the notion that your marriage, your parenting, your fitness, your stress - you should be able to figure them out alone - and if you can't you're a failure. But that couldn't be further from the truth. Everybody needs somebody some time.

[2020 has been a doozy right out of the gate.]

The pandemic has undoubtedly changed our lives in countless ways. When I see people with worried faces hoarding toilet paper, I know they're just scared. All of us are just trying to survive, but I believe the chances for survival increase when we help each other.

Now, this podcast isn't therapy, of course. It's positive education you can reject or use to shift your perspective. Its also proof that there are people within reach that can support and identify with what you're going through.

These lives we lead and the problems we face feel unique to us, but the solutions are not far off. Technology has made that apparent. I hope this podcast serves as a reminder that help and hope do exist for you.

I implore you to seek help and when you can return the favor. Take the best of care. ~Hans
